The Process

Step 1: Place a Deposit

Go to the Shop page and save your spot in the queue by paying the deposit fee.

You will then receive an email with the required project intake form. (Be sure to check your spam folder.) Please complete this form within 48 hours. In order to complete the form, you'll need to pick out the clothing items you'd like to use in your quilt, and decide the quilt size you'd like.

Step 2: Invoicing

Once I receive your completed project intake form, I will send you the final invoice for your project via email.

This email also includes a form to collect the tracking information for your package so I can anticipate the delivery of your items.

Please pay invoices within 14 days of receipt.

Step 3: Prep Your Items

Wash and dry all of your selected clothing so they are fresh and ready for a new life.

Do not use fabric softeners, "scent beads", dryer sheets, or other fabric treatments.

Do not pre-cut your clothing items.

Package your items inside a plastic bag to protect them from moisture during transport.

If you don't have any specific preferences for your quilt design, that's ok. I can arrange them into a design for you.

If you do have preferences about which items you'd like to be grouped near each other in the finished quilt, please package them together in separate bags, and include a note. (Keep in mind my quilts are assembled from "blocks" that are roughly 21 x 24 inches.)

Step 4: Send Your Items

Please ship your clothing items within two weeks of receiving your invoice.

I strongly recommend getting shipping insurance. While many items are special and irreplaceable, having insurance will give you some peace of mind!

I will contact you during the making process. In order to ensure a timely completion of your project, please respond to emails or phone calls within 24 hours.

Step 5: Care Instructions

Once your project is completed, I will contact you to let you know it's ready to go home!

Fabrics purchased and used by Memory Keeper Quilts will be pre-washed before the quilt is made to prevent fabric shrinkage and and color bleed. I will not be liable for fading or damage to the quilt once it has been washed and/or dried by the customer. Please follow the care instructions below and use color catchers on the first wash.

Always wash in a front load tumble machine in cold water with a mild soap. Dry in a tumble dryer on the low heat setting. Use "gentle" mode during both wash and dry if your machines have this option.

If you notice any threads, please trim them with scissors; do not try to pull them!
